The tea leaves adds a subtle tea fragrance that helped cut through the heaviness of the stew. <\/p>\n<p>I was skeptical when I first saw the combination of soy sauce, cinnamon stick and tea leaves&#8230; really?? It just sounds weird. But I hadn&#8217;t been able to replicate the flavor I remember from home with the other recipes I tried so I figured it was worth a gamble.
